Campaign Story

It was a dream come true when we first decided to start our IVF journey. After months of trying to conceive naturally with no success, we felt hopeful when we were advised to pursue in vitro fertilization. We knew it wouldn’t be easy, but we were ready to face whatever came our way, together.

Our first egg retrieval felt like a milestone—a step toward building our family of 4 to 5. I remember feeling both nervous and excited as we walked into the clinic. The procedure itself was a blur. But when we got the call a few days later, it wasn’t the news we had hoped for. The number of eggs retrieved was better than expected, but after genetic testing, only one embryo was deemed viable. It was heartbreaking. I had imagined a different outcome, one where we’d have more embryos to give us better chances of success.

We learned quickly that IVF doesn’t always go as planned, and our journey wasn’t going to be a straight path. I remember the tears, the frustration, and the overwhelming sense of doubt that crept in. Were we doing enough? Was this really meant to be?

To make matters more difficult, we didn’t have insurance coverage to help with the costs. Every procedure, every test, every medication came out of pocket. We spent countless hours figuring out how to make it work, sacrificing vacations, cutting back on anything unnecessary, and taking on extra work to cover the expenses. IVF is expensive, and with no financial support from insurance, we had to dig deep to find a way forward.

After several weeks of reflecting, we made the tough decision to move forward with a second egg retrieval to try to get more eggs that could be viable. Despite the fear of another disappointing outcome, we knew we had to give it one more shot.

Throughout this process, there were moments where we questioned everything. The exhaustion, the emotional roller coaster, the financial burden—it all took its toll. But it also brought us closer. We learned that resilience comes not just from the physical strength to go through the procedures, but from the emotional endurance to keep going, even when the road feels endless.

Now, as we wait for our next steps, we continue to reflect on the journey so far. IVF has taught us so much about patience, hope, and the power of persistence. It’s not easy, and it’s not always fair, but it’s a journey worth taking. For anyone out there who is struggling through the same, know that you’re not alone. Our story isn’t over yet, and neither is yours. Keep fighting, keep hoping, and above all, keep going.

This is only the beginning of our journey, and no matter the outcome, we know that every step has brought us closer to the family we’re working so hard to create.
